Andreia Falqueto Lemos [1985] Vitória, Espírito Santo, Brazil
Visual artist and professor, Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master in Art History and Criticism from UFES - Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, Brazil; Master in Artistic Production and Research and PhD in Artistic Creation and Critical Reflection from UGR - University of Granada, Spain. In Brazil she is represented by the IADÊ Institute. She is a member of the research group "En los Bordes: Arte público y arte en vivo" (On the Edges: Public Art and Live Art), UGR. She works with painting, drawing, objects and installations. Since 2011, she has participated in collective and individual exhibitions in Brazil and Spain. Her work is part of public collections such as MAC Paraná and the City Hall of Vitoria, Brazil. Among her most recent distinctions, she obtained the first place in the Andalusian Art and Recycling Competition (2019) in Spain. In her theoretical-practical work, she carries out anthropological research that questions the possibilities of the image in contemporary times. Her approach focuses on issues related to being-there, human presence in the world and direct and indirect relationships with her environment, Vitoria, the city where she was born. The artist transforms everyday and typical scenes into enigmatic, almost oneiric landscapes, taking the public into a deeply personal, emblematic and symbolic universe.
